Assistant Nurse Manager - Stead Family Children's Hospital (Pediatric Specialty Clinic)
About the role
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans
- Collaborate with nursing staff, medical staff, interprofessional teams, and other hospital departments
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and patients
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in performance evaluations and staff meetings
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required
- Minimum 2 years current or recent (within the last 12 months) experience in pediatric specialty nursing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with computer software applications
- Effective teaching skills for staff and patient education
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Qualifications
- Certification in Pediatric Nursing is desirable
- PALS certified is desirable
- Experience managing/leading transitions in care is desirable
- Experience working in an ambulatory setting is desirable
- Experience working in a large academic center is desirable
- Experience working in a union environment is desirable
- Knowledge of UI and UI Health Care policies, procedures and regulations is desirable

Schedule
