Assistant Nurse Manager PACU
About the role
Barnes Jewish Hospital Assistant Nurse Manager PACU - Parkview Tower works 4/10 hour shifts from 10A-830P. The position offers a work/life balance and is located within a 44-bed unit that handles approximately 60-70 cases daily, focusing on minimally invasive surgeries and specialties such as urology, colorectal, gynecology, bariatric, gender reaffirming, and interventional radiology. The role is bonus eligible and comes with comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, and develops professional development plans for team members.
- Ensures productivity and actions align with departmental operational goals set by leadership.
- Participates in developing departmental staffing, revenue, and expense budgets, and adheres to these goals.
- Coordinates and executes staff communications, prepares huddle agendas, and leads meetings.
- Determines staffing needs and makes nursing assignments, including overtime.
- Recommends effective annual increases and interviews for open positions.
- Evaluates and conducts performance reviews, drafts and issues corrective actions/coaching, and follows up on disciplinary actions.
- Manages staff productivity and contributes to the department’s operational goals.
Requirements
- Prior PACU/critical care experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of nursing experience.
- Preferred 5-10 years of supervisor experience.
- Current Registered Nurse license.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
