Assistant Nurse Manager Operating Room

About the role

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Assistant Nurse Manager Operating Room POD 2-Trauma, Ortho trauma, plastics, upper extremity, reconstructive joints, ortho oncology.

Shifts: 1100 - 2100 (4-10 hr shifts), Monday-Friday. Set day off will be determined. Shared call 3-4 weeks over 12-month period. Bonus eligible $20,000.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation.
• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
• Makes decisions about staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and adheres to those goals.
• Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy.
• Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.
• Supports the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determines appropriate disposition if variation exists.
• Performs and approves daily payroll updates. Reconciles time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval.
• Prepares, coordinates and executes all staff communications; prepares huddle agendas and leads meetings.
• Determines staffing needs; makes nursing assignments as well as assigns overtime.
• Recommends effective annual increases.
• Interviews staff for open positions; evaluates and conducts performance reviews as assigned; drafts and issues corrective actions/coaching; follows up regarding any disciplinary action to determine compliance.
• Responsible for staff productivity and the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Conducts performance evaluations and makes recommendations on areas of improvement if needed.

Requirements

• Preferred Qualifications: 5-10 years Supervisor Experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree - Nursing, 2-5 years Supervisor Experience, RN License.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
