Assistant Nurse Manager of Satellite
About the role
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports and manages daily unit operations, including staffing and scheduling, orientation and onboarding, education and competency assessments, and budget monitoring. They collaborate with the Director of Satellite Operations and other nursing leadership to ensure patient care standards are met and quality improvement measures are implemented.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment, hiring, and education of staff

- Assisting in the assessment of technical and professional education needs
- Supporting the implementation and ongoing use of staffing plans
- Maintaining and establishing patient care standards
- Implementing quality improvement measures
- Facilitating workflows and supporting staff
- Developing and articulating a shared vision and goals
- Communicating key messages and resolving patient experience issues
- Evaluating patient care delivery model and staff performance
- Ensuring safe, quality, and standardized care delivery
- Articulating the organization's performance improvement initiatives
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting schedule development, real-time staffing adjustments, and shift coverage
- Facilitating interdepartmental and multidisciplinary relationships
- Ensuring staff compliance with mandatory classes and education
- Assisting with the development and implementation of the unit budget
- Providing education on the financial implications of unit operations
- Assisting with utilization review and monitoring staff utilization
Requirements
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, current RN license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, two years of supervisory or charge nurse experience, and a valid/current BLS Healthcare Provider. Certification in a related specialty is preferred but not required, and the position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and proficiency in PC-based computer software.
