About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, positive, energetic, and compassionate Assistant Nurse Manager to support leadership in our newly created Dialysis Unit. This position is ideal for a dynamic clinical nurse aspiring to advance into a formal leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Operationalize the organization's mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.
- Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating the annual department goals and objectives in alignment with the mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.
- Ensures staff knowledge and participation in quality improvement activities, including but not limited to The Joint Commission's core measure projects, National Patient Safety Goals initiatives, and NDNQI goals; evidenced-based projects and research activities.
- Communicates current professional nursing standards that reflect standards for patient specific populations.
- Participates in house-wide quality and safety indicators and evidenced-based projects, and establishes unit specific quality indicators.
- Utilizes the patient safety communication system, identifies opportunities for improvement, and leads/participates in initiatives to improve quality and safety.
- Demonstrates improvement in the quality and safety of patient care through an interdisciplinary unit based committee/mechanism, which monitors the effectiveness/appropriateness and outcomes of patient care.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing required.
- Bachelor Degree of Nursing is strongly preferred.
- 1-2 years of previous job experience.
- 3-5 years of previous job-related experience strongly preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Illinois.
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
- Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization is preferred.
- MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF DIALYSIS EXPERIENCE
