This position is ideal for a dynamic clinical nurse aspiring to advance into a formal leadership role. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong clinical expertise, and is dedicated to staff development and delivering high-quality patient care. As this role is integral to the development and launch of new units, schedule flexibility, sound decision-making skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for success. Gottlieb nurses participate in shared governance and are active in practice-related decision making that influence their daily work. Operationalize the organization's mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating the annual department goals and objectives in alignment with the mission, philosophy, operating principles, model of care, and strategic plans/goals.Ensure staff knowledge and participation in quality improvement activities, including but not limited to The Joint Commission's core measure projects, National Patient Safety Goals initiatives, and NDNQI goals; evidenced-based projects and research activities.Participates in the bi-annual review of all unit-specific polices/procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evidenced based practice.Communicates current professional nursing standard that reflect standards for patient specific populations.Participates in house-wide quality and safety indicators and evidenced-based projects, and establishes unit specific quality indicators.Establishes unit based evidenced-based projects/research projects as appropriate.Utilize the patient safety communication system, identify opportunities for improvement and lead/participate in initiatives to improve quality and safety.Demonstrates improvement in the quality and safety of patient care through an interdisciplinary unit based committee/mechanism, which monitors the effectiveness/appropriateness and outcomes of patient care. Position Requirements Associate's degree in nursing required.Bachelor Degree of Nursing is strongly preferred1-2 years of previous job experience3-5 years of previous job-related experience strongly preferredCurrent Registered Nurse License in the State of IllinoisCPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)Other: Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization is preferred.MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF DIALYSIS EXPERIENCE At Loyola Hospital, we know you’re more than your job.
