About the role

Serves as a change agent and role model for professional behavior, assisting staff in embracing necessary change. Promotes unit-based shared governance, professional development, and nursing specialty certification in partnership with the nurse manager. Facilitates a positive working environment through leadership rounding, interviewing, and on-boarding of new hires, learners, and peri-op fellows.

Responsibilities

  • Completes annual performance appraisals, including feedback, professional development plans, and employee self-appraisals.
  • Attends meetings as directed by the nurse manager.
  • Promotes employee engagement and a positive working environment.
  • Identifies, plans, and implements activities to ensure patient care aligns with professional standards, evidence-based practices, and patient safety goals.
  • Monitors departmental performance in quality and patient safety, developing action plans for unmet goals.
  • Participates in regulatory readiness and operational excellence projects using performance improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, peers, and other departments to meet organizational goals for patient experience.
  • Investigates and provides feedback for patient or departmental concerns, developing improvement plans as needed.
  • Ensures effective implementation of financial plans, demonstrating fiscal stewardship through efficient resource use.
  • Initiates and finalizes API staff self-scheduling to meet departmental staffing needs.
  • Assists with departmental payroll and collaborates on premium hour criteria and use.
  • Participates in budget involvement for expense control and revenue enhancement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • 3-5 years of Interventional Radiology experience (required).
  • Leadership experience (preferred).
