Assistant Nurse Manager, Hospital Operating Room
About the Role
This position assists in implementing best practice models and patient care delivery systems across multiple locations. It supports investigations into patient/family concerns, collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure optimal and safe patient care, allocates resources, supervises equipment and medication use, and maintains a safe environment for patients and employees. The role ensures compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements while providing clinical supervision and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Recommends developmental opportunities and builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships.
- Solicits and acts on performance feedback; mentors and coaches team members for performance improvement.
- Pursues professional growth; provides training and supports performance management.
- Implements and adapts to organizational changes, best practices, and processes.

- Supervises and coordinates daily activities of a work team or unit, ensuring policy compliance.

- Removes performance obstacles and identifies improvement opportunities.
- Supervises hospital administrative functions, including team meetings, compliance, financial commitments, and data collection.
- Manages care delivery operations in a 24/7 environment, supporting large work streams and emergency preparedness programs.
- Supervises multidisciplinary teams and ensures accountability for performance.
- Supervises improvements to operations and technology processes, executing strategic projects and monitoring performance metrics.
- Ensures safe, quality, and standardized care delivery, monitoring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Contributes to the design and implementation of systems to evaluate and improve patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in patient care delivery.
- Associates degree or higher in Business, Nursing, Health Care, or a related field and minimum two (2) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a related field or minimum three (3) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
- Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in a related practice area.

Pay
$194,000 – $224,400 per year. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
