Assistant Nurse Manager - Emergency Room

About the role

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining and purchasing equipment, and overseeing departmental operations in an emergency department setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and conducting professional development.
• Develop and adhere to departmental staffing, revenue, and expense budgets, responding to operational changes.
• Provide and supervise patient care tailored to age and developmental needs, documenting according to policy.
• Create collaborative care plans based on assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.
• Monitor staff productivity, handle payroll, staffing needs, and conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure departmental goals are met, supporting overall hospital operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational requirements include a Nursing Diploma/Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience ranges from 2-5 years for basic roles to 5-10 years for preferred roles, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid RN license required.
