Primary Tasks & Major Activities
The Assistant Nixa LIVE Coordinator supports the district's student-run broadcast program by assisting with live event productions, supervising student crews, and ensuring consistency in production quality. This role serves as a key support position within the program, helping lead broadcasts, assist in student development, and maintain operational efficiency across all events.
Educational/Skills/Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Education, Communications, Broadcasting, or related field preferred
- Teaching certification preferred but not required
- Experience in video production, live broadcasting, or multimedia production preferred
- Familiarity with broadcast equipment (cameras, switching software, audio systems) preferred
- Experience working with or supervising students preferred
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Knowledge of live streaming platforms (YouTube, MSHSAA.TV, etc.)
- Graphic design or motion graphics experience
- Experience building or growing a media or broadcast program
Time Commitment
Requires evening and weekend availability; Estimated 20 events per semester across fall, winter, and spring seasons.

- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to make decisions in a live production environment
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site
- Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and work extended hours during events
- Ability to travel to away athletic venues
- Willingness to collaborate with peers
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education
- Willingness to understand and support District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
