Assistant Men's Basketball Coach (COACH AST 3)

Under the general direction of the men's basketball head coach, assist in all aspects of an NCAA Division I men's basketball program.

Responsibilities

• Student recruitment
• Scheduling and team travel
• Scouting opponents
• Practice planning
• Assisting with the administration of summer camps and clinics
• Administration of the men's basketball program in full compliance with NCAA and university rules and regulations

Time allocation: 70% coaching, 30% recruiting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
• Collegiate level (or comparable) coaching and/or playing experience in basketball
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Knowledge of basketball rules and strategies, including teaching techniques, coaching strategies, and safety measures for collegiate competition
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification bi-annually

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to learn complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student-athletes, including UC Davis, Big West Conference, and NCAA policies

Pay

$90,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule

Full-time (100%), fixed appointment. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Nights and weekends as needed based on team schedule.

This position is 100% on-site in Davis, CA, and is non-represented (PPSM).
