Assistant Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design of deep well turbine and booster pumps along with related equipment for new wells, capacity upgrades, performance upgrades and repair.
• Cordination and supervision of contractors along with overseeing, observing and documenting equipment installation, repair, upgrade, modification, and replacement.
• Performance testing, troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment problems.
• Preparation of contracts along with other documents for purchase, repair and installation of pump and related equipment.
• Update equipment databases as needed.
• Evaluation of existing and potential alternative equipment/systems for compatibility, operability, feasibility and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering with preference for water pumping/hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic principles and processes along with a clear understanding of construction/installation practices.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD along with excellent communication and verbal skills necessary.

The Authority may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the requirements.
