Assistant Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Changing oil in equipment
• Repairing 2 cycle engines on weed eaters
• Overhauling and repairing maintenance vehicles, mowing equipment, and other power equipment
• Lubricating and servicing all equipment
• Inspecting equipment for operating deficiencies and making routine adjustments where necessary
• Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of hydraulic systems, repairs, and their components
• Inspecting, changing, and repairing tires
• Aiding in controlling tool access and use by maintenance staff
• Cleaning working areas after repair work is completed
• Aiding in fabrication, body repair, and painting
• Adjusting cutting units on mowing equipment
• Assisting on the maintenance crew and operating mowing equipment
• Aiding in training maintenance staff in the proper care and upkeep of golf course equipment
• Performing other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Certificate from a college or technical school
• Two or more years of experience with small engine repairs and maintenance
• A valid driver's license

Other Qualifications

• Quick learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
