Purpose
Supports the overall success of U.S. Cash Management Operations by overseeing daily operational activities, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and enforcing adherence to established processes and controls. Acts as the first line of supervision and escalation for the team. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Oversees and ensures the proper completion of daily, weekly, and monthly processes by self or Analysts across Global Transaction Banking (GTB) products including but not limited to account lifecycle activities (open/maintain/close), balance & transaction reconciliations, interest/fee calculations & payments, client payment processing, statement processing, and various audit, regulatory, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Reviews and validates outputs produced by Analysts to ensure adherence to established procedures, controls, and SLAs.
- Acts as the first point of escalation for operational issues, client inquiries, and control exceptions; performs root cause analysis and determines appropriate resolution or escalation to Manager.
- Maintains strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including Product, Technology, and Sales partners, to facilitate issue resolution.
- Enforces adherence to the control framework, ensuring all key controls are executed consistently and in accordance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Identifies process gaps, control weaknesses, or inefficiencies and implements enhancements in consultation with the Manager.
- Supports audits, regulatory reviews, and internal control testing by coordinating responses and ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
- Provides day-to-day coaching, guidance, and support to Analysts; contributes to training and onboarding of new team members.
- Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Requirements
- 3 - 5 years of practical experience supporting Transaction Banking business, including but not limited to Payments/Deposits, FX Settlement, and Liquidity Management.
- Strong knowledge of Transaction Banking products with advanced technical acumen and solid risk management techniques preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with external clients and internal partners.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, planning, time-management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to be a self-starter and team player.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Prior experience with Finacle, Power BI, and other operational systems considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline considered an asset.
