Job Summary
TravelCenters of America offers a convenient, one‑stop shopping experience to customers, featuring name‑brand products, Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, and clothing and gifts. The Store Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager with operations and marketing functions of the Travel Store/Convenience Store, including staffing, training and development, general supervision of staff, and improving profitability. The Assistant General Manager ensures every traveler returns to the road better than they came.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the team to meet and exceed company performance standards, fostering fast, friendly customer service, strong product knowledge, and an upbeat atmosphere.
- Develop a trusting environment that encourages feedback from team members and guests; coach and performance‑manage staff according to company policy.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain high‑quality team members, creating a culture of respect and recognition.
- Help achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service, and facility processes, focusing on revenue and profit components.
- Adhere to safety standards and operational guidelines.
- Follow company guidelines on vendor relationships.
- Assume duties of any hourly associate position as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED) required.
- Supervisory experience preferred in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or a related industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Skills
- Leadership ability to motivate, train, and develop team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Operational understanding of POS software.

Pay
Pay Range: $17.48 – $19.23 per hour. The range reflects potential pay based on responsibilities, experience, and skills.
Schedule
Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Physical Demands
