Assistant Manager/Sr. Merchandiser - Denim Division (GAP Buyer)

About the Role

Soorty Textiles BD Ltd. is inviting applications from dynamic, self-motivated, and career-oriented individuals for the position of Assistant Manager/Sr. Merchandiser – Denim Division (GAP Buyer).

Responsibilities

• Communicate with GAP Inc. buyers regarding order details, development status, sample approvals, and shipment updates.
• Follow up orders from product development stage to final shipment to ensure on-time execution as per buyer requirements.
• Coordinate with production, washing, planning, and quality teams to maintain smooth workflow and timely delivery.
• Prepare and maintain order sheets, Time & Action (T&A) plans, WIP reports, and buyer correspondence.
• Monitor sample development including fit samples, PP samples, size set samples, TOP samples, and shipment samples according to GAP standards.
• Ensure product quality, compliance, and packaging requirements meet GAP Inc. standards and expectations.
• Track fabrics, trims, accessories, and other raw materials to avoid production delays and shipment risks.
• Assist in product costing, consumption analysis, and price negotiation for merchandising activities.
• Maintain proper documentation in line with buyer requirements and internal procedures.
• Support senior merchandisers in day-to-day operational and communication tasks related to GAP Inc. orders.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-6 years
• Education: Bachelor of Apparel Merchandising
• Skills: garment manufacturing, merchandise planning, technical knowledge of garment production, garment industry knowledge, apparel sourcing, garment production, fashion merchandising, fashion buying, textile industry knowledge, purchase management
