Assistant Manager - Paint & Powdercoat
About the role
As an Assistant Manager, you will lead and manage the Paint & Powdercoat team, ensuring they remain on task with high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards. You will also provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Paint & Powdercoat team, ensuring they remain on task with high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
- Maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Oversee the Paint & Powdercoat processes, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all team members have the necessary supplies and tools to complete their jobs efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish supplies as needed.
- Review and interpret detailed work order instructions to guide the team in accurately painting parts according to specifications.
- Identify and resolve any issues or inefficiencies in the Paint & Powdercoat Process such as incorrect paperwork - communicate with engineering and the quality team on changes needed or missing documentation.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and continuous improvement.
- Aid in shipping coordination (matching paperwork, working with drivers, obtaining BOLs).
- Assist with customer inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Previous experience in production or manufacturing supervisory role preferred.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and/or ideas professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to problem-solve issues to their root cause and work to implement corrective action.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Proven experience leading successful teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Education Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Total Compensation Package
Total compensation package includes a wage range of $62,500 - $70,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
