Assistant Manager (Indeed Event)
About the Role
Panda Express is searching for experienced leaders to join our store management team. As an Assistant Manager, you are in charge of assisting the operation of a single store, including hiring, managing, and directing associates to achieve financial goals and ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences. A 3+ week paid Store Management Leadership Training program, mentorship, and support from the Panda community will prepare you for success.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of a single store location
- Hire, manage, and direct associates to meet financial goals
- Ensure delivery of exceptional guest experiences
- Work a flexible schedule including opening/closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must be flexible to relocate to a store within a 50-mile radius of home
- Serve Safe certified (Food Safety)
Work Environment
While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam tables and food vapors. Workspace is restricted, and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods. Key physical demands include:
- Preparing hot and cold foods, using kitchen equipment (including Chinese cook knives), and working quickly without losing accuracy
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for up to four hours and reaching across 36-inch countertops to serve customers
- Working in hot, noisy kitchens with limited storage space and high shelving
- Adapting to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Managing conflicts and difficult situations with effective verbal communication skills
