Assistant Manager FSQA

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule and assign work to QA Inspectors, provide training in SOPs and OPLs.
• Manage labor budget, conduct performance evaluations, hire, discipline, coach, train, develop, and recommend terminations.
• Maintain a safe work environment, report unsafe conditions, and apply corrective actions.
• Investigate product/process failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Enhance technology and innovation to improve department effectiveness.
• Manage relationships with colleagues and suppliers to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Administer hold, release, and traceability programs, coordinate with lab staff, and ensure timely record submission.
• Review and update HACCP/HARPC plans, SOPs, registers, and forms.
• Participate in facility and corporate audits to ensure compliance with SQF code.
• Train associates on quality programs.
• Support implementation of company ERP system.
• Assume FSQA Manager responsibilities in absence of FSQA Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field; equivalent work experience may substitute.
• Minimum 5 years Quality Assurance experience in food industry, 3 years in supervisory or management roles.
• Experience supervising teams at multiple locations, both in person and remotely.
• Regular, punctual attendance required, ability to work 2nd shift for sanitation audits.
• Self-starter with strong initiative, excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Conversational Spanish or Cantonese preferred.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change.

PAY AND BENEFITS

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $93,000k- $124,000k per year. However, base pay offered may vary based on individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes a full range of generous benefits, including medical, financial, and paid time off benefits, as well as 401(k) eligibility.
