Hermès Chicago Boutique, opened in 1990, focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients as part of the Northern Region. This role reports to the Managing Director and collaborates with the sales and selling support teams to enhance the client experience in a fast-paced, luxury environment.

About the Role

  • Daily supervision of staff, including coaching, training, and assisting in achieving sales objectives.
  • Maintain an active management presence on the sales floor, modeling exceptional service and ensuring all team members embody the Hermès spirit.
  • Identify sales opportunities through weekly reviews of business by métier, tracking deliveries, and special orders. Apply these insights alongside each sales specialist’s personal goals to evaluate contributions to the boutique’s total sales.
  • Contribute to and/or conduct monthly touch-base meetings and annual performance evaluations in collaboration with the Managing Director and Floor Director.
  • Communicate CRM standards, follow up daily to ensure associate compliance, and maximize the quality of client capture rates and detailed information according to Hermès standards.
  • Ensure policy and procedure are clearly communicated to the team and actively complied with.
  • Monitor E-time and scheduling needs for staff, maintaining accurate records of vacation, time, and attendance in collaboration with HR.
  • Organize seasonal trainings, including key métier points, share internal updates, and ensure the sales team integrates this knowledge into client conversations at the point of sale.
  • Assist in maintaining a database of candidates for the store, recruiting, and interviewing to fill open positions.
  • Make critical client decisions and manage the business during the Managing Director or Floor Director’s absence for Preview/Podium visits.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise sales staff and ensure the achievement of annual sales goals for the boutique.
  • Ensure the store remains profitable with accurate inventory levels within company parameters.
  • Maintain stock levels across all métiers of responsibility, manage made-to-order sales (MOS), and ensure sell-through aligns with Hermès standards.
  • Make decisions related to staff, clients, and store operations, stepping into the role of Floor Director or Managing Director as needed.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of retail management experience; prior experience in a luxury environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic office skills, including Excel, Word, Cegid, and E-time.
  • Ability to learn merchandise, POS, and payroll systems, and effectively troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong ability to interpret sales data and translate it into effective business recommendations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift between 0-25 lbs. without assistance.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $92,036.00 - $103,540.00. Actual rates are determined based on job location and individual experience.
