Assistant Manager

About the Role

We are looking for Assistant Managers to join the Planet Fitness team. In this role, you will provide a superior level of customer service to members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience. You will lead a team of associates to achieve operational excellence and manage all aspects of the club's operation in the absence of the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to oversee the entire operation and management of the club, ensuring a positive member experience, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Manage and be responsible for all aspects of the club’s operation in the absence of the General Manager.
• Work productively as part of a team and motivate staff to achieve club productivity and customer service goals.
• Follow all company standards to ensure the work shift contributes to the financial best interests of the club.
• Utilize the individual and collective skills of the team effectively to create a positive experience for both staff and members.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training to ensure the club is fully staffed at all times.
• Ensure excellence in customer service by creating a welcoming environment, greeting and assisting members, and quickly responding to member inquiries and needs.

Requirements

• At least one year of management experience required.
• Fitness, retail, or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Exercise Science, Business, Kinesiology, or similar field, or a combination of experience and education preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Continual standing and walking during your shift.
• Continual talking to members and potential members in person and on the phone.
• Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
