Assistant Manager

About the role

Join the Planet Fitness team as an Assistant Manager and lead a team of associates to achieve operational excellence while providing a superior level of customer service to members, prospective members, and guests—ensuring an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to oversee the entire operation and management of the club, ensuring a positive member experience, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Manage and be responsible for all aspects of the club’s operation in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate and inspire the team to achieve club productivity and customer service goals.
• Follow all Company standards to ensure the work shift contributes to the financial best interests of the club, utilizing the team’s skills effectively and creating a positive experience for both staff and members.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training to ensure the club is fully staffed at all times.
• Ensure excellence in customer service by creating a welcoming environment, greeting and assisting members, and quickly responding to member inquiries and needs.

Requirements

• At least one year of management experience required.
• Fitness, retail, or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Exercise Science, Business, Kinesiology, or similar degree, or a combination of experience and education preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Continual standing and walking during shifts.
• Continual talking to members and potential members in person and on the phone.
• Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
