Assistant Maintenance Technician

About the role

Barge Properties is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations and maintenance of their apartment communities. This role involves assisting with apartment turns, preventative maintenance, service requests, grounds upkeep, and general property maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Aid in daily maintenance operations throughout the property
• Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Support routine and preventative maintenance activities
• Absorb apartment turns and make-ready projects
• Perform painting, cleaning, drywall repair, and minor repairs as needed
• Assist with troubleshooting in all areas of maintenance
• Maintain common areas, amenities, and property grounds
• Identify maintenance issues before they become larger repairs
• Follow safety policies and company procedures
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance documentation
• Support senior maintenance team members with larger projects and repairs
• Absorb inventory organization and maintenance supplies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred

• Previous experience in apartment maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, landscaping, building maintenance, or general maintenance
• Trade school or vocational training
• EPA Certification (not required)

Pay

$21.00 per hour

Schedule

40+ hours per week | On-call rotation may be required
