At Conifer Realty, our Assistant Maintenance Supervisors do more than oversee repairs. They help create safe, well-maintained communities where residents can thrive. In this role, you'll work alongside the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to keep operations running smoothly while mentoring team members and ensuring every apartment and common area meets our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing maintenance operations and serving as backup when needed.
- Coincordinate apartment turnovers, make-ready units, punch lists, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Perform and assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, groundskeeping, and general building maintenance.
- Maintain maintenance shops, storage areas, tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.
- Coordinate vendors and contractors by reviewing quality, cost, and timeliness while assisting with project bids.
- Monitor maintenance inventory and purchasing supplies within approved budgets.
- Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, emergency on-call responsibilities, and supporting nearby Conifer communities when needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining safe, attractive, and well-maintained communities for residents.
Requirements
- You're a hands-on maintenance professional with strong technical skills and a passion for leading by example.
- You bring 4–5+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience.
- You have experience with painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs; HVAC experience or willingness to learn is a plus.
- You have previous experience supervising or mentoring maintenance staff preferred.
- You have a high school diploma or GED.
- You have vocational training or certifications in HVAC, building maintenance, construction, environmental hazards, or related fields are a plus.
- You have OSHA knowledge preferred.
- You have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.
- You have the ability to respond to on-call emergencies within 30 minutes when scheduled.
- You have experience monitoring inventory and purchasing maintenance supplies within budget.
- You have basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Yardi Voyager experience is a plus.
- You have strong communication, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
