Assistant Maintenance Director

The Duties & Responsibilities

• Assume administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for supervising and directing maintenance department
• Develop and implement repair and maintenance schedules for all areas of facility and grounds
• Schedule repair and maintenance work for contractors
• Participate in facility inspections and develop a plan of correction for Maintenance Services deficiencies noted
• Maintain building appearance and accessibility for residents and staff

• Has a mastery level of technical expertise (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural knowledge)
• Possesses the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public
• Has a positive attitude and cheerful disposition
• Is flexible and always willing to go the extra mile in terms of ensuring the safety of our residents
• Strives to ensure the safety of our residents
• Follows procedures and safety precautions
• Has excellent leadership and communication skills

Qualifications & Physical Demands

• 1 year's supervisory experience required
• Previous long-term care experience is desirable
• Maintenance experience in all areas of machinery and facility repair required
• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights
