About the Role
The Assistant Lodgekeeping Manager supervises and leads staff in cleaning all Lodgekeeping areas on Yellowstone Club property, oversees the Member Laundry Team, and performs office duties including payroll, ordering, scheduling, and inter-departmental meetings.
Responsibilities
- Ensure outstanding service for Members, guests, and their families in a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every Member and guest, maintaining service standards, and demonstrating product knowledge.
- Guarantee total Member satisfaction, displaying hospitality and professionalism at all times while handling transactions legally and ethically.
- Apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure environment; report accidents or emergencies to management immediately.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Yellowstone Club team members to foster a collaborative environment.
- Support the Lodgekeeping Manager in supervising Lodgekeeping and Laundry Supervisors, Attendants, Drivers, and Lodgekeepers daily.
- Assist in directing, planning, and organizing team members to ensure high Member and guest satisfaction.
- Promote a positive culture that aligns with Yellowstone Club’s vision and mission, focusing on retention and internal growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other departments to meet Member and guest expectations.
- Interact with Members, guests, and families cheerfully, resolving complaints and relaying details to management for follow-up.
- Understand daily operations within Lodgekeeping and Member Laundry.
- Assist in preparing team schedules to ensure coverage across all sections.
- Inspect and evaluate facilities, equipment, and furnishings; recommend repairs, replacements, or relocations to management.
- Ensure Lodgekeeping team members adhere to departmental, club, and performance standards, including productivity, safety, attendance, and uniforms.
- Perform duties efficiently in accordance with Club policies and service standards.
- Maintain departmental productivity, organization, punctuality, and consistency standards.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with Members, guests, vendors, and co-workers while maintaining privacy.
- Maintain a clean, neat appearance and project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club.
- Communicate regularly with employees, supervisors, managers, directors, and VPs.
- Perform work safely with high attention to detail.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of Laundry and Lodgekeeping equipment; submit work orders and report safety hazards immediately.
- Establish and monitor a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and safety standards, including proper MSDS management.
- Assist in setting operational standards for each area and conduct employee training to meet these standards.
- Implement monitoring methods to ensure budget objectives are met, such as inventory control, payroll reviews, and supply orders.
- Conduct and oversee regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld.
- Assist in managing staffing needs, including interviewing, training, and ongoing development to maximize satisfaction, retention, and productivity.
- Conduct weekly or monthly meetings with staff to communicate pertinent information, upcoming events, and solicit feedback; provide written reviews to the Lodgekeeping Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/job-related coursework.
- Proven communication and organizational skills to accomplish goals.
- Previous resort or club Lodgekeeping/Housekeeping experience or equivalent.
- 1-2+ years of cleaning experience in a resort or club setting.
- Experience and ability to drive in demanding winter and mountainous conditions.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Previous Lodgekeeping/Housekeeping leadership experience or equivalent.
Skills
- Proficiency in basic technology, including smartphones, computers, and email.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Word processing and proofreading skills.
- Able to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, co-workers, and vendors.
- Able to write clearly and legibly.
- Basic math calculation abilities.
- Problem-solving skills; ability to know when to seek managerial assistance.
Work Environment
The role is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, but may require working outside in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, or inclement weather as needed.
Physical Demands
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and operate a computer.
- Frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Constantly stand, walk, talk, and/or hear.
- Constantly use hands and fingers to handle, organize, or lift items.
- Constantly use vision and alertness to assess work accuracy, neatness, detail, and safety hazards.
- Regularly drive a company vehicle, requiring prolonged sitting and attention to road safety and compliance with policies and Montana state laws.
