Assistant IT Team Manager - Software Applications

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Team Manager to lead the Dealer Applications Unit, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical connectivity systems supporting Honda dealers, service facilities, and field teams. The role involves providing strategic IT leadership, presenting updates to executive leadership, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Managing project delivery
• Overseeing technical workstreams
• Ensuring governance and compliance with security and regulatory standards
• Driving platform innovation
• Providing leadership, mentoring, and supervision to build a high‑performing, inclusive team aligned with organizational goals
• Leading solution architecture, conducting design reviews, and securing approvals from architecture review boards
• Building trusted relationships with business, IT, vendors, and partners to influence product roadmaps and improve operations
• Ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, quality, and budget objectives using established methodologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
• At least 8 years of IT experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles managing teams, resources, and large‑scale projects

Skills

• Deep knowledge of security, data privacy, governance
• Experience with modernization, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and enterprise architecture
• Strong project management, communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with application design, architecture, Agile and Waterfall delivery, and vendor management
• Proficiency with productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio
• Automotive industry experience preferred but not mandatory
