About the role
Penguin Random House is seeking an Assistant to join the Insights & Analytics team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's data analysis and presentation efforts, with high visibility and impact across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in project management for the group and collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks
- Calendar/appointment management as well as virtual and in-person event coordination and meeting attendance
- Cook up and manage the monthly sales analysis newsletter, including gathering content, formatting, and distribution
- Conduct research, pull and organize data from various sources to support the analysis functions of the team
- Create and design PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations
- File and maintain travel and entertainment (T&E) expense reports
- Maintain and update records, files, and databases
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and demands
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Preferred Skills
- Prior work in a publishing or other media-related business
- Familiarity with or strong interest in learning data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Additional Information
The salary for this position is $55,000 for those who begin on or after August 3rd. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results. This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
