About the role
The Goddard School seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines, providing attentive care for infants, maintaining a clean and safe environment, engaging with infants through play and sensory experiences, and communicating positively with team members and families. This position requires following licensing and health & safety guidelines.Responsibilities
- Supporting the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Providing attentive care for infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Engaging with infants through play, language, and sensory experiences
- Communicating positively with team members and families
- Following licensing and health & safety guidelines
Requirements
- Experience working with infants or young children preferred
- Able to lift, carry, and actively engage with children throughout the day
- Dependable, patient, and nurturing personality
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma required (CDA or early childhood coursework a plus)
- Individuals pursuing early childhood education
- Assistant teachers looking to gain infant classroom experience
- College students interested in working in a licensed childcare setting
