Position Summary
At Snow Mountain Ranch, the Assistant Human Resources Director supports a welcoming and professional workplace where staff members are empowered and inspired. This role involves leading Human Resources operations, providing support to staff, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and YMCA policies.
About the Role
The Assistant Human Resources Director oversees Human Resources staff, interns, volunteers, seasonal, and international staff. They also partner with leadership to interpret and apply employment laws and YMCA policies, and support staff in creating a positive living experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating staff sharing between centers when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality in all Human Resources and organizational matters.
- Partner with leadership to interpret and apply employment laws and YMCA policies.
- Support staff in creating a positive living experience.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, agendas, meeting minutes, investigation notes, and other documents.
- Answer and respond to inquiries, Teams, voicemails, and emails promptly and professionally.
- Operate office technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scanners, and copiers.
- Communicate in both English and Spanish to support a diverse team.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Be on-call when needed.
- Adapt to new systems, processes, and challenges.
- Communicate in a group setting.
- Train supervisory staff in Human Resource related matters.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field, with at least one year of supervisory experience.
- Minimum of two years of professional Human Resources training or related experience.
- Strong interpersonal and customer skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to promote a cooperative, solution-focused, and supportive work environment.
- Ability to operate office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, and scanner.
- Valid, USA state issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and compliance with YMCA driving rules.
- Ability to speak in front of groups.
- Ability to train supervisory staff in Human Resource related matters.
Flexibility and Availability
- Able to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Willingness to be on-call when needed.
- Able to thrive in a high-stress environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
