About the role
The Assistant High School Tennis Coach will assist the Head Tennis Coach in the planning, organizing, and execution of tennis practices, competitions, and events. This role involves contributing to the MCS “Live, Love, Learn” culture by helping to develop athletes' skills, ensure team safety, and provide support during competitions.
Responsibilities
- Instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Assess player’s skills and monitor players during competition and practice.
- Responsible for facility and equipment upkeep.
- Coinciding the scheduling of games and practices.
- Plan logistics and transportation for events during and outside of school hours.
- Mentoring and coaching the athlete.
- Aid in the fundraising of the Sports program.
- Responsible for financial budgeting of the Athletic program.
- Follow the guidelines in regards to student eligibility in extracurricular activities.
- Maintain a liaison with parents.
- Provide for the care and protection of school property.
- Promote a healthy environment through effort and example.
- Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and community.
- Attends work regularly and is punctual.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma
Licensure: N/A
Experience: Experience coaching or playing in tennis.
Skills
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Organizational management skills.
- Ability to communicate with students, teachers, parents and members of the community.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
