Assistant General Manager - Retail
About the role
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager who’s ready to grow into a bigger leadership role in our Orchard Park showroom. You’ll work side-by-side with the General Manager to lead the sales team, elevate the customer experience, and keep the operation running strong. This role offers a front-row seat to the business while building the skills and confidence to eventually lead a showroom of your own.
Responsibilities
- Lead from the floor: be visible, engaged, and involved with the team to set the tone and keep everyone focused on the customer and goals.
- Coach and develop people: partner with the GM on 1:1s, coaching conversations, team huddles, and ongoing development to help the team improve.
- Drive the customer experience: create an experience that makes customers want to return and makes the team proud.
- Learn the business: gain exposure to sales, operations, staffing, performance, inventory, and problem-solving.
- Step in when it matters: make decisions, solve problems, support the team, and keep the showroom moving during busy periods.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of retail management experience (commission-based retail is a plus).
- Strong communication skills for both easy and tough conversations.
- Ability to naturally build relationships and earn trust.
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Enjoy coaching people and helping them reach their potential.
- Ability to work 8–12-hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. with assistance for product demonstrations.

Pay
$60,000–$65,000 base salary + bonuses, with typical total earnings of $70,000–$75,000 per year.
