Assistant General Manager - Retail

About the role

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at Applegreen USA's travel plazas. Reporting to the General Manager, this position offers valuable learning experiences in management and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback and set goals for non-management associates.
• Foster teamwork and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non-management associates, assign tasks, focus on operational performance, coach, and develop shifts supervisors.
• Perform duties in the absence of the General Manager, motivating and influencing staff, especially during low morale periods.
• Address issues promptly, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain awareness of brand standards and procedures to enhance brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Ensure the restaurant remains clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards.
• Manage cash accurately, report daily, and ensure inventory data accuracy through spot counts and checks.
• Resolve customer issues and maintain positive relationships.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in quick-service restaurants or similar management roles.
