About the role

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at Applegreen travel plazas. This position offers valuable learning experiences for aspiring managers, focusing on key areas like performance feedback, goal setting, team building, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assigning tasks, focusing on store-level operation performance, coaching, and developing shifts supervisors.
• Competent performance in the absence of the general manager, motivating and positively influencing staff, especially during low morale periods.
• Addressing issues promptly, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and maintaining brand standards.
• Maintaining cleanliness and adherence to brand standards, ensuring accurate cash management, and reporting daily.
• Resolving customer issues and fostering positive long-term relationships, performing spot inventory counts, and checking inventory data accuracy.
• Passionate about helping employees grow, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills, excellent customer service, and effective communication.
• Adapting to flexible schedules, lifting/pushing objects weighing up to 30 lbs., and having basic food safety knowledge.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in quick-service restaurant or similar management operations.

• Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and a positive attitude.
• Sharp business acumen and basic food safety understanding and practice.
