About the role
We’re pleased to be working with a growing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company to add a senior attorney to its legal team. This is a new, high-profile role created to support the company’s expansion. It comes with a team to lead and a real chance to shape how the business manages risk on its biggest projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team: manage and mentor two attorneys, guide their work, review deliverables, and support their growth; set consistent standards across the group’s commercial work.
- Handle high-stakes commercial deals: draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including EPC, construction, engineering, subcontract, equipment, services, and supply agreements; serve as the go-to resource for the most complex deals.
- Advise on major capital projects: counsel the business on large construction, industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects, spotting risks early and resolving them before they become problems.
- Protect the company on complex projects: apply deep expertise in risk allocation, project execution, flow-down of prime contract terms, change orders, pricing, schedule impacts, supplier management, and claims avoidance.
- Partner across the business: build trusted relationships with project, commercial, engineering, supply chain, finance, risk, compliance, and executive teams, leading through influence as much as legal skill.
Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high-dollar supply chain and procurement transactions for major projects.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and construction industry transactions.
- Executive presence to lead a team of attorneys and collaborate with business leaders.
- Active Bar license; Texas preferred, but will relocate a top candidate.
