Assistant General Counsel
Represent the agency, its Board, and personnel in legal proceedings. Handle a wide array of legal issues including employment law, constitutional law and civil rights, EMTALA, mental health law, department investigations, legislation, policies, ethics, and litigation in all state and federal courts and other tribunals.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- License to practice law in the State of Oklahoma
- Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association
- Level II: Two years of legal or adjudicative experience
- Level III: Five years of legal or adjudicative experience
- Level IV: Seven years of legal experience, including two years of litigation or agency-defined experience in the practice of law (e.g., tax) or supervisory experience
Special Requirements
- Willing and able to fulfill job-related travel; valid driver’s license required

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the state’s mental health and substance use treatment services system. The department's core mission is to provide prevention and treatment services for Oklahomans who are indigent and without a means to pay.
