About the Role

This is an entry-level legal position for The Cooper Health System in-house Legal Department. The candidate must possess excellent research and writing skills, and personal characteristics consistent with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. The candidate must have a strong work ethic and an ability to function effectively in a small law firm-like environment where teamwork, flexibility, and responsiveness are highly valued. The candidate must be motivated to learn a wide array of subject matter and must be able to effectively represent the interests of diverse clients spanning both clinical and non-clinical disciplines and professional and non-professional occupations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform legal research and writing.
  • Represent the interests of diverse clients across clinical and non-clinical disciplines.
  • Operate effectively in a team-oriented, flexible, and responsive environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor Degree required.
  • New graduate - three years’ experience as an Attorney.
  • Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to perform computer-based legal research.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as dictating equipment, business calculator, facsimile machine, photocopying machine, and multi-line telephone system.
  • Must possess a valid NJ driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Health law education and/or experience preferred.
