Assistant General Counsel

About the role

Axos Clearing LLC Target Range: $110,000.00/Yr. - $160,000.00/Yr. Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements relating to clearing and custody business, including agreements with broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, and other securities industry counterparties
• Develop and maintain standardized agreements, forms, and disclosures for various securities industry-oriented activities
• Advises on securities law requirements, corporate governance, and regulatory matters
• Works closely with internal teams and external counsel to provide timely, practical, and solution-oriented legal support to all Axos Clearing business units
• Assists with litigation and dispute resolution processes
• Identifies and addresses legal risks associated with business operations

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• 3+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably within a corporate legal department or law firm
• Active bar membership in good standing, with no disciplinary history
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and strategic planning abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Prioritizes effective management of a diverse and complex workload
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
• Outstanding organizational skills with strong time management and follow-up capabilities
