Assistant Field Manager- Bridges and Highways

Responsibilities

  • Assists Superintendent with duties or responsibilities as assigned, or performs these duties for jobs without a Superintendent, including:
    • Advocates safety as the top priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plans, policies, and all safety-related regulations
    • Partners with Estimating, Division Management, and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate construction projects, including direct liaison with owners, designers, and subcontractors
    • Develops and implements production plans with budget goals in mind
    • Assists Project Manager in preparing project status reports
    • Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports, and logs
    • Oversees the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and coordinates shop drawings
    • Procures tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule
    • Determines staffing levels and timing considering building methodology and availability of tools and equipment
    • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and directing onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes
    • Prepares or oversees submission of payroll and all required HR and Payroll documentation
    • Resolves workforce complaints and grievances with assistance from HR and Legal
    • Works with supervisory personnel, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers to improve construction methods and resolve issues
    • Ensures construction schedules are adhered to by determining staffing levels and material/tool procurement
    • Supervises and coordinates subcontractors to monitor compliance with subcontract terms
    • Follows and enforces company policies and procedures
    • Coordinates and oversees regulatory inspections

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience
  • Current knowledge and ability to apply local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information to management, owners, and external entities
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • People management skills
  • Valid driver’s license
