Highway/Bridge Project Manager

About the role

We’re looking for a talented leader to join our Highway/Bridge Project Management Group in Pennsylvania to deliver solutions to our clients and the region’s travelers. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including the quality of project work performed, client service, utilization of staff, scope and fee development, contract management, invoicing, and project profitability for highway infrastructure projects.

We’ll look to you for oversight on planning, directing, and coordinating activities of projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Drawing upon your previous expertise, you’ll establish work plans, fee estimates, and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project while working with the Project Management Principal and Discipline Group Leaders regarding assignment of project personnel.

As part of these project responsibilities, you will provide subconsultant management as well as staff mentoring and professional development recommendations. You’ll also be responsible for the delivery of projects that meet local (State, County, or City) and AASHTO standards.

You will maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as well as assist in the development and implementation of local marketing and business development. You’ll research and track future project opportunities with Client Account Managers, initiate and review proposals, and participate in interviews and presentations.

The final candidate could be located in Philadelphia or Harrisburg, PA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of project delivery including quality, client service, staff utilization, scope and fee development, contract management, invoicing, and project profitability.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate project activities to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
• Establish work plans, fee estimates, and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each project phase.
• Provide subconsultant management and staff mentoring, including professional development recommendations.
• Ensure project delivery meets local (State, County, or City) and AASHTO standards.
• Maintain positive client relationships and assist in local marketing and business development efforts.
• Research and track future project opportunities with Client Account Managers.
• Initiate and review proposals, and participate in interviews and presentations.
• Perform occasional local travel for project-related tasks and meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager or Sr Project Engineer on highway and/or bridge design projects.
• Established local client and partner relationships and experience on PennDOT, PA Turnpike, or large City (e.g., Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh) projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in PA or obtainable within 6 months.
• Technical understanding of highway/roadway design standards including horizontal and vertical geometrics, drainage, utilities, traffic signals, signing, lighting, erosion and sediment control practices, stormwater management, cost estimating, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of CAD systems – MicroStation and InRoads.
• Proof of performing quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
