About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager in Jacksonville, FL to oversee highway and bridge projects, ensuring completion within schedule, budget, and compliance with company safety and procedural policies.
Responsibilities
- Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee all construction activities, specific to assigned discipline, on assigned project.
- Construct the project and work with the management team to maximize profitability.
- Monitor and oversee construction activities and personnel within delivery timelines, including development plans and training requirements.
- Responsible for overall construction activity progress and performance, along with monitoring and review of key performance indicators.
- Cooperate with all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times.
- Act as a role model for the company’s vision and values, encouraging alignment with company ways of working.
- Promote equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behavior when interacting with colleagues.
- Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate information.
- Build, supervise, and lead teams; communicate effectively with crew leads on goals and expectations.
- Ensure Foremen manage crews and subcontractors to provide a safe, respectful, and positive work environment.
- Manage the construction package elements of the procurement process.
- Monitor contract performance against project milestones, budget, and other established metrics.
- Maintain business relationships with multiple clients and ensure client expectations are met.
- Build and sustain relationships with Client Site Representatives to ensure open communication and trust.
- Ensure all work in assigned discipline meets company Safety and Quality standards.
- Proactively manage equipment to prevent damages and plan resources.
- Complete personnel administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., expectation documents, performance management, task planners).
- Work closely with the Field Operations team on resource management to drive project profitability.
- Support Business Development, Estimating, and Preconstruction efforts as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy construction industry, with knowledge of construction techniques and management.
- Must have bridge, roadwork, and DOT experience.
Skills
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety, working toward the company's Zero Injury principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and document project activities.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, and the public.
- Calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, and extreme heat.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
