About the role
Ascent Hospitality seeks a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to join their team as Assistant Executive Housekeeper. This position supports the Executive Housekeeper/Manager or Director, ensuring effective operation of the department and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service, and product quality standards for guest rooms, public spaces, offices, banquet/meeting/conference rooms in accordance with local and company health, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Monitor team member performance, providing feedback and communicating any concerns to the Executive Housekeeper for follow-up.
- Maintain inventory control (linen, room supplies, etc.), monitoring and reporting on maintenance issues immediately.
- Physically inspect rooms daily to ensure brand standards and overall cleanliness, preparing rooms for guest check-in.
- Provide feedback to Room Attendants regarding room deficiencies, ensuring all rushed/transferred rooms are handled smoothly and efficiently.
- Clean/prepare rooms as needed, organizing housekeeping carts for daily work.
- Communicate room status to all divisions, assisting with training efforts, and promoting a positive team environment.
- Support the Laundry Department, creating schedules, supervising operations, and ensuring proper inventory management.
- Report and log lost and found items, ensuring all storage areas are secure and housekeepers' sheets are submitted to the front desk before leaving.
- Maintain public areas of the hotel, ensuring excellence in cleanliness.
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies, providing training and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a Supervisor or Manager role, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to plan and organize activities, handle conflict, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Strong initiative and work ethic.
- Punctuality, reliability, and regular attendance.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours.
