Responsibilities
- Reviews and provides comments on engineering plans for any projects impacting the right of way, and more specifically, the City street lighting system, to ensure compliance with PWD Street Lighting Standards.
- Updates and maintains as-built plans for the City Street Lighting system.
- Oversees, creates, and updates alternate lighting plans (ALPS) to ensure accuracy and accessibility for end users.
- Reviews, updates, and maintains specifications for City Street Light system materials, including, but not limited to, light fixtures, street light poles, pole/base foundations, cabinets, panel boards, conduit, wiring, and related components.
- Supports DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) implementation by providing engineering and specification information as needed.
- Performs light level analysis and updates light level standards as needed.
- Reviews, updates, and maintains PWD Street Light specific information for the City asset management system.
Requirements
- Minimum entrance qualifications: At least three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, technical or professional experience in electrical engineering or related work, of which at least one (1) year must have been in a professional capacity.
- Substitution: Successfully completed years of education in a recognized degree-granting school with a major in electrical engineering may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of one year of education for six months of experience. Or: A graduate degree may be substituted for the required (A) experience.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
