Distribution Operations
Oversee day-to-day activities in the distribution center, ensuring operational efficiency and that employees are properly trained and performing their responsibilities.
During times when the DC Manager is traveling or on vacation, the Assistant DC Manager will take on the DC Manager's responsibilities, ensuring smooth and continuous operations of the distribution center.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and working with the team to drive performance enhancements.
- Support inventory management practices to ensure accurate inventory records, reduce waste, and optimize stock levels to meet demand.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of safety initiatives, ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Actively participate in safety training, audits, and corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, customer, and third-party food and safety audit requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in external audits and inspections as required.
- Ensure the facility maintains high cleanliness standards and is organized according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Driver and Vehicle Coordination (MA, RI, CT)
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of DSD delivery drivers operating in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
- Coverage and coordination of the general maintenance of all leased delivery vehicles.
- Ensure all DOT regulations are adhered to, including maintaining up-to-date records for driver logs, vehicle inspections, and any other necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (e.g., D365), ERP (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX), and Transportation Management Systems (e.g., AR Traffic) is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Bachelor's Degree, or 5 years related experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
