Assistant Dispatcher

About the role

Buckingham Heavy Transport services include specialized transport, over-the-road heavy haul, and engineered lifting and rigging. Our team of project managers, safety experts, logistics coordinators, and transport crews work closely to oversee every stage of projects and ensure that cargo arrives safely and on time. The Dispatch assistant coordinates communications and permit applications, and documents loads. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys keeping operations organized and moving smoothly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with drivers and customers to support load coordination.
• File oversize and overweight permits.
• Keep accurate records of loads.

Requirements

• Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with oversize or overweight permits, routing, and load documentation.
  • Industry experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or dispatch operations.
  • Experience with dispatch software, permit filing tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules or heavy-haul operations.
  • Experience working directly with drivers and customers, including handling scheduling updates and coordinating load details.
