Assistant Director, Research Compliance Program Effectiveness
About the role
The Assistant Director of Research Compliance Program Effectiveness in the Office of Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (RCRA) ensures the institution's research compliance program is consistent with state and federal laws and regulations. This role also leads, conducts, and coordinates policy development and approvals for Office of Research Administration (ORA) policies, investigates research noncompliance concerns, conducts training and education programs, monitors training effectiveness, develops research compliance training programs, conducts periodic reviews, facilitates risk assessments, provides guidance and advice, assists in drafting compliance reports, and performs related responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Leads, conducts, and coordinates policy development and approvals for Office of Research Administration (ORA) policies.
- Assists with investigation triage, interviews, investigation, and reports for research noncompliance concerns.
- Counsels employees, faculty, and students on research compliance issues.
- Conducts employee, faculty, and student research-related training and education programs.
- Maintains and updates the research compliance training program.
- Monitors effectiveness of the training program.
- Develops and administers the university-wide research compliance program.
- Facilitates and conducts assessments for new research regulations and their impact on Emory's research enterprise.
- Provides input and assists in drafting compliance reports, including the development of review findings and recommendations for specific remedial/corrective actions.
Requirements
- A JD or PhD and five years related research, regulatory, and compliance experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Residency in the state of Georgia.

- Experience with regulatory compliance and research ethics.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to research compliance.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
