Director of Research Compliance

About the role

The MaineHealth Institute for Research is seeking an experienced Director of Research Compliance to join our executive leadership team. Under the direction of the Vice President for Research, this Director is responsible for managing an effective research compliance program in pursuit of MaineHealth’s research programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage an effective research compliance program
• Manage research compliance education
• Function as a compliance information clearinghouse
• Implement and manage a compliance education program that provides support for scientific research of faculty members, staff, and students

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified IRB Professional (CIP)
• Experience with at least several of the following: IRB, IACUC, IBC, SRC, Research Misconduct, Conflict of Interest, and HIPAA research issues

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• At least 5 years of experience in research compliance
• Experience with regulatory bodies such as IRB, IACUC, IBC, SRC
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
