Responsibilities

  • Supports the design, implementation, and daily operation of the football sport science program.
  • Maintains athlete workload, readiness, and recovery through the use of athlete monitoring technologies (GPS, force plates, etc.).
  • Collaborates with strength & conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, and coaching staff to enhance player availability, readiness, and performance.
  • Translates data into actionable insights for coaches, medical staff, and performance personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or related field, and/or a master's degree.
  • Experience with athlete monitoring technologies (GPS, force plates, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (data organization, formulas, basic analysis).
  • Applied understanding of training load concepts (volume, intensity, ACWR, etc.).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in collegiate or professional football.
  • Experience with player tracking systems: Catapult / Zebra systems.
  • Experience with VALD technologies: ForceDecks, NordBord, ForceFrame.
  • Data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI.
  • Data analysis & coding tools: R, Python.
  • Machine Learning: Predictive modeling, feature engineering, model evaluation.
  • Computer Vision: Player tracking, pose estimation, video annotation.
  • Systems: Git, APIs.

Position reports to the Associate AD, Performance Enhancement / Football.

Pay

Pay Band {lPayScaleID} Overtime Status: Exempt - Not eligible for overtime Appointment Type: Restricted Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Hours per week: 40+. Nights and weekends as needed.
