Duties And Responsibilities
- Communicate with student frequently and effectively, connecting student to a range of services and programs inside and outside the school that address their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development
- With the support of the Program Director, monitor all aspects of the DYCD Cornerstone programming and initiatives
- Model positive youth development practices and social emotional learning competencies
- Coordinate staff meetings with Program Director and assist with dissemination of organizational policies, procedures and protocols
- Observe and evaluate staff performance and provide and / or facilitate ongoing relevant professional development for staff with the support of the Program Director
- Engage families and caregivers in supporting the education of their children and the ways in which academic outcomes are enhanced by serving the social-emotional and personal development needs of the child
- Work closely with the Program Director to direct staff to establish a common language, workplace culture and program vision that speaks to our purpose in the community and the impact we aim to make
- Aid in funder and/or agency reporting as outlined by Director
- Serve as community outreach personnel connecting stakeholders to the Center
- Serve as Center liaison to stakeholders, when needed, in absence of Director
- Co-create a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations
- Manage all data entry across programs and contracted data systems including participant enrollment and attendance, and ensure that all program goals and outcome targets are achieved
- Ensure all records including staff files, participant files, and program certifications are up to date and in accordance with organizational and funding source requirements
- Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layout and equipment procurement, maintain and replenish inventory, checking stock to determine inventory levels, and anticipate needed supplies
- Ensure all related facilities and materials are well maintained and liaise with the appropriate agency staff around facility maintenance, when necessary
- Perform any and all task deemed necessary by the Program Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of administrative/supervisory experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience, including at least one year experience working in an urban school environment in a youth development role; experience working with elementary and/or middle school students a plus
- Must have knowledge and experience of DOHMH and DYCD regulations
- Evidence of culturally competent practices and familiarity with NYC non-profits and social services
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff, student body and families, as well as a team of professionals at the school and across the organization
- Bilingual Spanish and English preferred
