What You’ll Do

  • Aid the Director of Nursing with the clinical leadership and day-to-day administration of nursing services.
  • Support the supervision, coaching, and development of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical team members.
  • Affirm compliance with CMS regulations, state and federal guidelines, and Americare policies.
  • Support resident assessments, care planning, MDS coordination support, and monitor changes in condition.
  • Participate in clinical rounds to assess resident status, staffing coverage, documentation accuracy, and care quality.
  • Aid in medication administration systems and controlled substance management.
  • Support quality assurance, QAPI initiatives, audits, and preparation for surveys and inspections.
  • Communicate significant changes in resident condition to nursing leadership, providers, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborate with therapy, social services, dietary, and leadership teams to support holistic resident care.
  • Aid in staffing coordination and provide leadership coverage as needed, including on-call support.

What You Bring

  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Licensure / Certification: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Maintains current state registration and required continuing education.
  • Experience & Skills: Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care strongly preferred. Knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, and clinical documentation standards. Strong clinical judgment, leadership presence, and organizational skills. Ability to balance hands-on clinical support with administrative and supervisory responsibilities. Effective communication skills with residents, families, clinical teams, and leadership.
  • Commitment: Passion for senior care and resident advocacy. Alignment with Americare’s mission, values, and culture. Desire to grow in nursing leadership and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Physical Demands: Stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, crouch, kneel, and change positions frequently. Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed. Push/pull up to 100 lbs. and maneuver resident wheelchairs (up to 350 lbs.). Assist in lowering residents to the floor during falls using proper procedures. Utilize required safety equipment, including gait belts, mechanical lifts, and PPE. Perform tasks requiring good vision, hearing, and verbal communication.
